NRL: Newcastle Knights v Brisbane Broncos at McDonald Jones Stadium

Knights co-captain Jamie Buhrer has been named to start at hooker for Saturday’s clash against the Brisbane Broncos in Newcastle.

In the team released an hour before kick-off at McDonald Jones Stadium Buhrer was elevated and Danny Levi moves back to the bench.

The Saifiti twins have switched spots with Jacob to run-on at prop while Daniel is one of four reserves.

Joe Wardle moves to the second row and Lachlan Fitzgibbon will be an interchange player.

Mickey Paea retains his position in the 17. Luke Yates drops out.

Wally Lewis medallist Dane Gagai will back up from Origin as expected and line up in the centres.

For the Broncos Anthony Milford returns from injury at five-eighth with Benji Marshall moving back to the bench. 

Matt Gillett and Josh McGuire have been rested post-Origin with Alex Glenn and Jai Arrow the replacements at 12 and 13 respectively.

Jamayne Isaako will make his NRL debut at fullback for Brisbane. 

The round 19 fixture is scheduled to start at 5.30pm.

In the earlier games Newcastle had mixed results defeating Blacktown 22-12 in reserve grade but losing to the Broncos 40-12 in under 20s.
