A male motorcyclist has died after a crash on the M1 motorway on Sunday afternoon.
NSW Police said in a statement that said emergency services were called around 4.40pm to the exit ramp between the motorway and Newcastle Link Road following reports of a crash.
Police said initial investigations suggested the motorcycle had left the roadway.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the rider, who is yet to be formally identified, at the scene but he died a short time later.
A crime scene has been established and investigations are continuing.
The Traffic Management Centre is advising northbound motorists to allow extra time or use George Booth Drive.
