LET the sun shine, Newcastle, because it's not going anywhere this week.

Bureau of Meteorology figures for the region show the clear winter days are sticking around, with barely a hint of moisture on the horizon. Newcastle is expected to warm up and stay dry for the next few days, getting as warm as 24 degrees on Friday before a possible late shower arrives on a mostly sunny Sunday.

It is a similar story across the region, with only parts of the Upper Hunter forecast to receive any moisture.

That is expected to arrive in the form of a morning frost on Wednesday.

The warm, dry days also mean Barrington Tops snow is unlikely.
