HUNTER Primary Care has named Brenda Ryan as its new chief executive officer.
Dr Peter Hopkins, the chair of Hunter Primary Care, said Ms Ryan had more than 30 years of management experience, with the past 14 being in the Australian rural primary health care industry.
Dr Hopkins said Ms Ryan had overseen a range of primary care programs, including mental health services, Partners in Recovery, headspace, Aboriginal health, chronic disease, general practice, the NDIS, home care and aged care, in her previous role in Perth.
Ms Ryan said she felt privileged to be taking on the role, and was looking forward to strengthening primary care in the Hunter.
“I am extremely confident that, as an organisation, we have the experience and strategic knowledge to ensure Hunter Primary Care remains a leader in the primary health care space,” she said.
