ARRESTED: Five Newcastle Finks members will face court next month.

FIVE members of the Newcastle Finks chapter have been charged with consorting in a Gangs Squad operation.

Hunter police and Strike Force Raptor officers continue to investigate violent acts believed to relate to a dispute between rival outlaw motorcycle clubs.

Investigators linked to that operation, Strike Force Batterson, arrested five Finks members from the Newcastle chapter on Wednesday.

They include a 29-year-old, a 27-year-old and three men aged 25. Each was charged with habitually consort with convicted offenders.

All five received conditional bail to face court in Maitland on September 13.

Gangs Squad commander Detective Superintendent Deb Wallace said the aim was to reduce the gangs’ impact on the community.

“[We] will continue to target them with a range of overt and covert policing activities,” Detective Superintendent Wallace said.
