SINGLETON trainer Aaron Goadsby is confident Takara Truffle can bounce back on Saturday night at Menangle and earn a shot at the group 3 Baby Bling Stakes.

Takara Truffle won the group 3 Go Girlfriend Series two runs back but galloped at the start last week at Menangle before making up 50 metres and running into a wall of horses to come sixth.

She has drawn gate one for the $20,400 last this Saturday night and Goadsby believed the three-year-old filly was primed for victory.

“I think last week she was just a bit fresh,” Goadsby said.

“This week, hopefully with the run under her belt, and from the good draw and she’s got good gate speed, I think she’ll be hard to beat.”

Goadsby was eyeing the Baby Bling Stakes next week at Menangle.

“If we perform, we’ll go in that but if we do what we did last week, we’ll be in the paddock Sunday morning,” he said.

Newcastle has an 11-race meeting on Saturday night from 5.38pm.
