DR Hook famously sang, “the thrill that'll gitcha when you get your picture/On the cover of the Rollin' Stone.”

It’s a thrill Newcastle drummer Dom Borzestowski knows after his band Gang Of Youths graced the cover of the Australian Rolling Stone’s September edition, following a five-star review of their album Go Farther In Lightness. It’s the first time a Novocastrian has been on the front since Daniel Johns in 2015.

“It’s one of those cool things you might dream of, but never expect will happen, so when we found out it was a thrill,” Borzestowski said. “It was surreal when it came out, as some people thought it was a joke and we just photo-shopped it in.”

Growing up he only hoped to one day feature on the front of the Newcastle Herald.

“That’s still a dream, I don’t know if you guys can help us out?” he joked.
