Newcastle Beachwatch with Dave Anderson: December 12, 2017

BEACH WATCH

We are into a East wind and swell pattern for this week. Not quite big enough to break on outside banks so only a few small shore breaks on offer.

Swell East at 0.5 to 1m. Wind light and variable tending East to N/E.

Tides full first up and try Cowrie, Newcastle Beach, South Bar and Dixon. Redhead, Hams and Moonie to the south. Boxy and Birubi up at Port Stephens. Choppy and tide filling for the late surf.

Clean and clear in for a swim. Try to stick to the flagged areas at patrolled beaches. Water temp on 18C.
