RSPCA kittens and puppies for a good home

PUPPIES are pouring in and rooms are filled with kittens at the RSPCA in Rutherford.The shelter has been inundated with litters of kittens and puppies in recent weeks as the breeding season comes to a close.It needs to find homes for 44 kittens, 28 puppies, 14 dogs, 10 cats and four rabbits."There is not a lot of room," RSPCA spokeswoman Michelle Minehan said."Staff members are being pushed to their limit trying to find homes for all the animals."It comes as clubs, cafes, bars and restaurant staff are urged to register for Tips for Tails between March 27 an 29.Under the new fund-raising program, staff in the hospitality industry can donate a portion of their tips to the RSPCA.Nine venues in the Hunter have already registered for the program."Newcastle is actually leading the way," Ms Minehan said.The RSPCA shelter is in Burlington Place, Rutherford.Inquiries can be made by phoning 4939 1555.
