Charges over alleged Mount Hutton glassing at Lake Macquarie

ONE man has been charged as police continue to investigate a brawl that erupted after a 19-year-old man was struck with a glass in Mount Hutton. 

Police will allege a group of men began arguing at a tavern on Wilsons Road about 11.30pm on Saturday before the incident. 

Lake Macquarie police attended and established a crime scene. 

They took the 19-year-old to the John Hunter Hospital suffering head and facial injuries. 

A 24-year-old man arrested at the scene was taken to Belmont police station and charged with reckless wounding and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

He received conditional bail and will face Belmont Local Court in October.
