National Ride2Work Day, October 18, estimates cyclers could save thousands riding to work

Thousands of Australians are expected to be ditching the car, train or bus and jumping on their bikes for National Ride2Work Day on Wednesday, October 18.

The annual event will be celebrated with breakfasts in every capital city.

Program organisers have estimated that people who ride to work save up to $15,000 a year on transport costs, while a five to 10 kilometre ride to work takes less than 30 minutes.

Bicycle Network’s Ride2Work program aims to get people out of cars and onto bikes by providing the tools, support and advice that new riders and workplaces need.
