A five-bedroom home on a large block in Whitebridge’s Flora Close was sold for the second time in a year for over $1 million.

Set on 750 square metres with a bush outlook, 2 Flora Close was sold at auction by Villager Property’s Allyson Little for $1.236 million on October 21.

Ms Little previously sold the house in March this year for $1.15 million. She said the buyers had relocated to Newcastle from interstate.

“The street seems to be going really well. Another house up the road sold recently for similar money,” she said.

The sale came in the same week PRDnationwide’s Mark Kentwell sold 17 Lonus Street in Whitebridge for $1.25 million at auction.

Dowling Wallsend’s Lucas Gresham had two hot auctions in Stockton on October 21.

He sold a block of four units at 22 Queen Street for $785,000 after an opening bid of $730,000. There were two bidders for the property on 393sqm.

Across town five bidders drove 58 Forfar Street up from an opening bid of $875,000 to $950,000, which Mr Gresham said was “a great result”.

The three-bedroom residence was set on one of the largest blocks left in Stockton of 1016sqm with rear access.

Another home with rear-lane access, but in Mayfield, sold for $580,000 after the auction opened at $515,000.

The two-bedroom home at 84 Braye St, Mayfield had four parties bidding and was marketed through Dotcom Property Sales.

HOT AUCTIONS

A two-bedroom unit in sought-after Kiilgour Avenue, Merewether being auctioned on October 28 has drawn plenty of interest.

Ten contracts have been issued for 1/28 Kilgour Avenue, which is set at the front of a brick complex within 200 metres of the beach and enjoys ocean views.

“The unit is in need of some TLC but it’s probably in the best position of the complex,” Mr Kerr said.

“It’s Merewether, it’s Kilgour Avenue and it’s got water views. We’re expecting bidding to start around the mid $600,000’s.”

The auction will be on site at 10.30am.

Chris Arnold, of Arnold Property, has been “blown away” by the response to an older style three-bedroom home at 51 Carrington Street in Mayfield which is on an 809 square metre block and is set to go under the hammer on October 28.

The price guide has been set at $600,000 and the auction will start on site at 1.30pm.
