THREE men have been charged after allegedly bashing two people inside a service station at Islington in a broad daylight attack.
Police allege the men entered the Maitland Road service station armed with weapons shortly after 10am on Saturday, where they targeted two people inside the store.
Police said they were assaulted by the trio before they fled the scene in a car.
The service station attendant was uninjured, but the two who were allegedly assaulted fled the scene.
Police attended the scene and established a crime scene.
After patrols of the area, the getaway vehicle was found by police and the trio arrested the same day.
The men, two aged 22 and one 27, were charged with affray and weapons offences.
The 27-year-old was also charged with driving a car on a disqualified licence.
The men were refused bail to front Newcastle Local Court on Sunday.
Police urged the two people who were assaulted to come forward.
