It’s been quite a year for North Construction, achieving not one but eight awards.
The Central Coast based building firm was recognised as 2017 Commercial Builder of the Year at the Master Builders Association Newcastle Building in Excellence Awards, an accolade they have achieved previously in 2016 and 2011.
Among 4 other project specific awards they also snagged the Commercial Apprentice of the Year, awarded to Mitchell Earl and Women in building Recognition Award awarded to Nicole Redmond.
“Our success at the Newcastle MBA awards is something we’re really proud of. Receiving recognition from the peak building industry body in our region supports our claims of consistency, quality and professionalism.
“We are grateful to our staff and subcontractors who contribute so much to achieving this success,’” Says Matthew Cook, Director.
Operating since 1987, North Construction is now the largest locally owned and operated commercial construction business in the Central Coast. The business focuses heavily on employee support and training, taking on trade apprentices every year and maintaining a cadet programme that provides scholarships through the University of Newcastle.
“When our employees receive individual awards and recognition it shows the depth of talent we have and is testament to the support and training focus that underpins our business culture,” continues Mr Cook.
North's approach to business is clearly understood with a raft of clients continually returning to the business for construction needs and a growing number of notable projects.
“Our reputation has led to us recently being awarded contracts for work with Downer EDI on the Newcastle Light Rail Project.
“The contract entails the construction of the Light Rail Depot Building as well as the construction of 6 stops along 2.7km,” Adds Mr Cook.
With a new head office at Tuggerah, projects are primarily in the Newcastle, Central Coast and Greater Hunter regions and span Aged Care, Health, Education, Hospitality and General Commercial sectors.
