A luxury residence in Belmont’s exclusive Bellevue Road lasted just one week on the market before being sold for an undisclosed sum that is believed to be the suburb’s first sale of over $3 million.
Viking Realty’s Louise Vico marketed the waterfront property at No.21, which was designed by EJE Architects and constructed by Craig Marriott Builders in 2010.
The five-bedroom Hamptons-style residence is on a 1356 square metre block with panoramic views over over Lake Macquarie.
It has a separate two-bedroom self-contained guest house, four-car garage, private jetty and was marketed with a price guide of $3.5 million to $3.75 million.
The suburb’s previous residential record sale was $2.9 million, according to Australian Property Monitors.
It may have been the biggest sale of the week for the area but there were plenty of others that broke the million-dollar mark.
PRDnationwide Newcastle and Lake Macquarie sold a circa 1922 six-bedroom residence in Swan Street, The Hill for an undisclosed sum. It was marketed with a guide of $2.35 million to $2.55 million.
A four-bedroom home on 700 square metres in Ridge Street, Merewether was sold by Dalton Partners for $1.735 million.
McGrath Estate Agents’ sold a two-bedroom apartment in the Royal complex on King Street, Newcastle for $1.17 million.
Robert Crawford Real Estate sold a four-bedroom home in New Lambton’s Addison Road for $1.16 million.
Creer Property sold a three-bedroom townhouse on The Esplanade, Warners Bay for $1.135 million.
There were plenty of sales around $500,000, giving hope to first home buyers.
Noel McFarlane Real Estate sold homes in Coorumbung Road, Broadmeadow ($532,000), Montgomery Street, Argenton ($411,125) and Henry Street, Cardiff ($461,000).
