The nervous wait will be over for more students across the Hunter and Lake Macquarie on Friday, as the next round of university offers takes place.
The Universities Admission Centre has been offering places at institutions across Australia since August, after the body did away with the concept of January main round offers for students applying for a place from 2018.
Friday will be the first offers for this month, with the next being on January 31.
There was one round of offer in August and two each month since September. There will be two rounds next month, with the final offers to be made on February 15.
According to the UAC fact sheet that detailed the changes, universities would keep enough spots available to offer eligible students in January.
“These changes simplify the process for applicants and institutions, allowing offers to be made earlier in the cycle, where possible, while still giving applicants plenty of choice and without disadvantaging those applicants who will still need to wait until January to receive their offer,” it noted.
