Stadium Super Trucks will not be on the Newcastle Supercars program for 2018, even though SST organisers have listed the city on their season schedule.

The SST website includes Newcastle as the penultimate round of a 10-race series which includes US IndyCar meetings at Long Beach, Fort Worth and Detroit.

The trucks are also on Supercars programs in Adelaide, Perth and the Gold Coast.

It is understood Supercars talked to SST about a Newcastle round but did not proceed due to a lack of garage space and track time and problems positioning jumps on the tight circuit.

The popular 600-horsepower trucks roar over jumps and land on soft suspension.

The Hunter’s Dakar rally champion, Toby Price, is an occasional driver on the SST circuit, which was created in 2013 by American motor racing veteran Robby Gordon.
