More tales of Daisy the resident croc

Last week's Ron Morrison photo of Iris Walsh with her pet crocodile, Daisy, prompted these comments from  Ardel Prout (nee Edge): “I was brought up by John and Iris Walsh from when I was 12 years in 1954. They are my aunt and uncle and my parents sent me to Newcastle for a better education. Their business at Mayfield was Newcastle Caravans, later changed to John Walsh Caravans. Daisy was caught by a friend, Crocodile Bill, in North Queensland.  Iris brought her back to Mayfield and kept Daisy in a tank of sand and water on the kitchen floor. My Uncle John and I had to push her away with a broom when we came to the house for lunch.”
