Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a stabbing in Newcastle overnight, which left one man in hospital.
About 8.30pm on Monday officers were called to a unit complex on Light Street, Bar Beach, following reports that a man had been stabbed.
On arrival officers located a 47-year-old man with stab wounds to his neck and arm.
He was treated at the scene before being taken to John Hunter Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
A crime scene was established while officers from Newcastle City continue speaking with a number of people who they believe may have been inside the unit when the incident occurred.
