A great smile is a wonderful thing and for the team at Family Dental Group, helping patients achieve the smile of their dreams is even better. While few of us are blessed with perfect pearly whites, achieving a killer smile is now far easier thanks to the technology.
Dr’s Ricardo and Maria Paez and their highly trained team of practitioners at Family Dental Group are pioneering change in the Australian dentistry, embracing technology to provide patients with life changing results in a fraction of time.
“Everyday we see people who want a better smile,” begins Dr Ricardo. “We are so passionate about helping people and improving their quality of life.Taking the time to really listen to patients, hear their story and work out the best options for them is what we do best. So often we hear I don’t like my smile, the key is to find out why.”
Using a technique called DSD,or Digital Smile Design Family Dental Group begin a detailed analysis of the mouth to build a profile of how each patient’s teeth look from a range of angles or when smiling or laughing. From there an accurate image of how that patient will look at the end of the treatment is able to be presented for the patient to see.
“We give patients the opportunity to test drive their new smile and actually wear a mock up of it in their mouth so they experience how it will look and feel once the treatment is finished.
“With DSD the results are that predictable, our patients know exactly what the end result will be before we even touch a tooth and commit to treatment,” he adds.
Family Dental Group is one of the few practices in the region to offer the technology to patients. It complements a raft of cosmetic dentistry services that the team offer, such as veneers, teeth whitening, Invisalign and dermal fillers. They have invested heavily in technology and the development of practitioners, so treatments such as crowns really do benefit from the efficiency that technology brings.
“We have a Cerec machine in our practices which has turned the usual process of providing a crown around; it can be completed in one visit and with much less time spent working in the mouth, yet with far greater fit. It’s really quite thrilling for us to be able to deliver such great outcomes,” says Dr Maria.
One such client, is practice manager Ann, who is currently undergoing treatment to improve her own smile.
“I’ve always been unhappy with the colour, shape and size of my teeth, so to have a process that enables me to see what I can look like over time is fantastic.I nearly cried when I saw what I will look like - it’s going to be life changing,” says Ann.
It’s this kind of rhetoric that fuels Dr Ricardo and Dr Maria’s passion and will no doubt continue to keep the practice at the forefront of the dental industry in Australia.
