Bureau issues storm warning for Upper Hunter

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for parts of the Upper Hunter.

The warning for large hailstones and heavy rainfall was issued for an area centred between Armidale and Tamworth but extending as far south as Scone.

The Bureau advised residents to avoid  creeks and storm drains and to unplug computers and appliances. 

For emergency help in floods and storms, ring the SES on 132 500. 

 The next warning is due to be issued by 6:25 pm.
