LETTER: Sentiment keeps fans

SO Gary Van Egmond says there is no room in sport for sentimentality. He sacks Jobe Wheelhouse, even though Gary himself says Jobe still has a lot to offer football.  It appears loyalty means nothing to Gary, results are all that count. Well, Gary, what keeps the fans hanging in there when you fail to produce  satisfactory results? It’s loyalty.

The Jets’ results over the last couple of seasons hardly justify the level of support they receive. What is keeping Gary in a job, and Jets’ support among the strongest in the A-League, is loyalty and a lot of sentimentality. If Gary has no sentimentality  then he had better start producing better results.
