FOOD or art? Friday night’s This is Not Art event could have left guests guessing.
Underground Epicureans, a local company who specialises in dining adventures, partnered with Ritual Cuisines in an installation designed to satisfy all senses – and with creations that allowed the guests to decide whether they were for eating or just admiring.
‘‘There were things like Virgin Mary’s hanging from the ceiling in bags, which guests could unhook themselves to drink – it was very hands on,’’ Underground Epicureans founder Neroli Foster said.
‘‘I wanted people to be able to move around and have things to do.’’
Other surprises included a ‘‘Lab Rat’’ experiment and the opportunity to create a masterpiece under the direction of Ann Caddey, from The Drawing Room.
The location of the event – Watt Space Gallery at University House – was not revealed until the day, another part of the adventure.
