Redhead’s Amelia Ross, Seraina Danuser and Lily Costello delivered the first gold medal for the Hunter at the Australian open surf lifesaving titles on Wednesday.
The trio won the under-19 female single ski relay final on the Gold Coast as their club collected four medals on the first of five days of competition. Costello also teamed with Rhianna Kevill and Nicola Owen for bronze in the under-19 board relay.
Redhead’s Lucas Corrigan, Justin McMorland and Hayden Copping were second in the under-19 male board relay. McMorland and Copping teamed with Sam Morgan to finish third in the under-19 single ski relay.
Redhead’s Ethan Whiteman was another finalist on Wednesday, finishing fourth in the restricted male surf race. Caves Beach’s Gabrielle Grieves was sixth in the open female two-kilometre ocean swim.
