Maitland Magpies will be looking for a replacement for gun midfield Andrew Pawiak who has taken up a full-time contract with a professional team in the Philippines.
Pawiak will be a big loss for the Magpies, but coach Phil Dando said he went with the club’s blessing and best wishes.
“You want to see them go on to bigger thing. He had the disappointment of not progressing at the Newcastle Jets from the youth team,” he said.
“It’s sad for us as he was a valuable player for us, we would have liked to have kept him for longer, but he leaves us with our blessing and we certainly hope he goes well over there and it leads to bigger things for him.
Dando said the club was weighing up options on the transfer market.
“We’re going to lose a couple of players in June who are going overseas, one permanently and two for six weeks. Having seen the young lads come through maybe they could stake their claim,” he said.
