A 10-man Edgeworth survived late drama to progress to the FFA Cup round of 32 for the third time with a 1-0 win over Maitland at Speers Point on Tuesday night.
The Eagles went ahead in the 29th minute when Adam Cawley scored with a left-foot shot from the centre of goals after great work from Kieran Sanders.
It capped an impressive 10-minute period for the Eagles after an even opening.
Matt Thompson was just wide for Maitland with a free kick in the 39th minute after goalkeeper Nate Cavaliere was pinged for taking the ball out of his area.
The Magpies had three great chances, two falling to Jye Mackellar, to level in the first 10 minutes of the second half without scoring.
Both sides created opportunities in an open affair but Edgeworth finished the stronger.
They were tested late, though, when Ayden Brice was shown a straight red card for an off-the-ball incident in the 89th minute.
Edgeworth join Broadmeadow as Northern NSW qualifiers into the nationwide knockout’s round of 32.
