Central Coast man charged with procuring child online

A MAN will face court on Thursday after allegedly arranging to meet detectives posing as a 14-year-old girl following sexually explicit online conversations. 

Investigators from the Sex Crimes Squad’s Child Exploitation Internet Unit began engaging with a man in May. 

They will allege in court he engaged in sexually explicit conversations with someone he believed to be an underage girl before making arrangements to meet the child on the Central Coast. 

Police arrested a man, 47, at Lake Haven on Wednesday morning. 

He was taken to Wyong police station and charged with use carriage service to procure persons under 16.

The man was refused bail to face Wyong Local Court. 

Police searched a Watanobbi property and seized electronic devices for forensic examination. Their investigations continue.
