Hunter Valley and Newcastle restaurants picked up several wins at the NSW Restaurant & Catering Association Awards held this month.

Best New Restaurant: Locavore Dining, The Sebel Kirkton Park, Pokolbin;
Best Restaurant in a Pub/Club/Tavern: Skillion Brasserie, Breakers Country Club, Wamberal;
Best Restaurant in a Winery: Esca at Bimbadgen, Pokolbin;
Best Seafood Restaurant: Little Beach Boathouse, Nelson Bay;
Best Steak Restaurant: The Cottage, Scone;

Best Restaurant Caterer: Honourable Mention – Circa 1876, Pokolbin;

Cafe of the Year – Regional NSW Winner – Awaba House, Booragul
Restaurant of the Year – Regional NSW Winner – Esca at Bimbadgen, Pokolbin.
The team at Circa 1876 was excited by their success (Regional Fine Dining Winner).
Circa 1876 executive chef Trent Barrett, whose sustainable dining philosophy fuels his menu through the restaurant’s kitchen garden, onsite bee hives, quails and chooks, praised his team: “No one can achieve excellence without the commitment and skills of a team, and I am blessed to work with so many talented chefs and wait staff here.
