Hunter Hornets Championship finals at Maitland Park

Hunter teams, including the Beresfield Bandits, won six of the 11 titles on offer at the annual Hunter Hornets Touch Football Championships in Maitland on the weekend.

The Maitland Redbacks women’s 30s finished runners-up with narrow 3-2 loss to the Wallsend Wolves.

The Bandits won the men’s 50-55 title with a 4-1 against Newcastle City Knights.

Men’s open: Doyalson Dragons 4 d Wollongong 3,

Men’s 30s: Central Coast 7 d Newcastle City 2.

Men’s 40s Wallsend Wolves 8 d Newcastle City 3.

Men’s 50-55: Beresfield Bandits 4 d Newcastle City 1.

Women’s Open: Newcastle City 5 defeated Central Coast 4.

Women’s 20s Central Coast 2 d Nelson Bay 1

Women’s 30s: Wallsend 3 d Maitland Redbacks 2

Women’s 40s: Peninsula Piranhas 4 d Central Coast 1

Mixed Open: Port Hunter Marauders 6 d Port Macquarie Makos 3.

Mixed Seniors: Doyalson 6 d Wallsend 3.
