Trainspotting actor Ewan McGregor has split from his wife of 22-years, production designer Eve Mavrakis, according to People magazine. The pair had reportedly decided to keep the news under wrap, until photographs of McGregor kissing his Fargo co-star Mary Elizabeth Winstead in a London cafe were published by The Sun this week.
According to the paper the pair, who played on-screen lovers, were "deep in conversation" for over an hour, before the 32-year-old "got on to the back of Ewan's motorbike and they sped off together."
"Ewan and Mary Elizabeth were there together and seemed relaxed in each other's company," reported The Sun.
A McGregor family source told People that 46-year-old Star Wars star McGregor and 51-year-old French designer Mavrakis decided to split in May. It was also noted by The Sun that the pair have both publicly posted images on their social media sites without their wedding rings.
In 2012, the Scottish actor revealed on The Graham Norton show that he ditched his previous dating behaviours to be with his wife.
"I knew right (when I met her) that I really wanted to be with her and I knew I wanted to be with her in a different way to all the other many, many women I had been with up until that point," he said to Norton "And I wasn't wrong. I made the right choice."
Mavrakis and McGregor, who married in 1995, share four daughters, Clara, 21, Jamyan, 16, Esther, 15 and Anouk, 6. The pair met on the set of the British TV series Kavanagh QC.
Winstead has also announced she has split from her husband, TV director and writer Riley Stearns, in May. The pair married in 2010.
The American actress wrote on Instagram. "We've decided to move on from our marriage, but will stay best friend and collaborators for all our days. We are still ride or die, just in a different way now. I love you always, Riley." The post has since been removed according to Stuff NZ.
Neither McGregor nor Mavrakis have released statements confirming their split.
