Halloween at the Australian Reptile Park

The animals at the Australian Reptile Park had their own Halloween pumpkin party to celebrate the spooky season.

As pumpkin is a part of Hugo the Galapagos tortoise’s diet, Halloween is definitely his favourite festivity. The 67-year-old giant reptile enjoyed demolishing a tasty jack-o-lantern that was carved especially for him by his keepers.

George the wombat was not so fond of his jack-o-lantern opting for the sweet potato hidden inside rather than eating the pumpkin itself.

What’s more Halloween than snakes? Look away now if you are even slightly squeamish. The Australian Reptile Park’s five corn snakes had an awe-sssssome time slithering about their pumpkin jack-o-lanterns.

Last but not least are the adorable sugar glider triplets Tiny, Beyoncé and Lemonade who played in their ceramic jack-o-lanterns. The sugar gliders were handed in to The Australian Reptile Park in August after their home was destroyed and are now comfortable members of the park family.
