Drivers in the Aussie Racing Cars Championship will have the honour of christening the Newcastle Supercars track at 8.40am on Friday, November 24.
Day one of the Newcastle 500 weekend will end at 3.35pm, after the second 40-minute Supercars Championship practice session.
The day-one program includes practice sessions for the Toyota 86, V8 Ute, Touring Car Masters and second-tier Super 2 series.
The racing morphs into a Foreshore Park concert featuring a DJ at 5.30pm, The Veronicas (6.30 to 7.30) and Delta Goodrem (8 to 9).
Saturday’s schedule starts with a Touring Car Masters practice at 8.10am and ends with the first 250km race in the main Supercars category from 3.45 to 5.50pm.
Newcastle band The Owls kick off Saturday’s concert from 5.50 to 6.20pm and are followed on stage by Spiderbait (6.45 to 7.30pm) and Cold Chisel (8 to 10pm).
Sunday’s program starts at 8.25am and closes with the 250km Supercars season finale from 3.40 to 5.45pm.
