After 16 months in the making, Islington’s Soho Central will come to life this weekend as its first residents start moving into the suburb’s newest boutique apartment complex.

Located on Maitland Road, Soho is the latest offering from Newcastle company GWH Build,.

Consisting of 41 one, two and three-bedroom residential apartments, Soho Central is the first development of its size in Islington. Apartments ranged from $385,000 to $685,000.

The development sold out in just under six months and GWH Build managing director Jonathon Craig said purchasers were already experiencing up to 25 per cent capital growth on their investments.

“Our vertically integrated group of companies means our turnaround is fast without jeopardising our quality – all good news for buyers,” Mr Craig said.

“Soho was finished in 16 months, which means people can start enjoying their investments.”

He said 70 per cent of buyers were owner-occupiers and a spread of first home buyers, families and downsizers.

“Islington is becoming more and more popular thanks to its proximity to the inner city, trendy cafes and bars, beautiful open spaces and convenient public transport and amenities. And that appeals to everyone,” Mr Craig said.

GWH Build has also delivered Aero in Newcastle West and Waterview in Belmont since December last year and has begun construction of the Centrale Apartments in Broadmeadow. The company are also behind Charlestown’s Highpoint Apartments and has another inner-city project in the pipeline.
