Man charged over armed robbery of Central Coast service station

A man has been charged following the armed robbery of a service station on the Central Coast.

About 10.40pm on Sunday a man entered the service station on Avoca Drive, Green Point, allegedly armed with a knife.

The man threatened two female employees before running from the store with an amount of cash and cigarettes.

Police were called and officers from Brisbane Water Police District attended the scene and commenced inquiries.

About 12.25pm on Monday police attended a home on Broadwater Drive, Saratoga, where they arrested a 22-year-old man.

He was taken to Gosford Police Station where he was charged with armed robbery with an offensive weapon.

He was refused bail and will appear in Gosford Local Court on Tuesday, February 27, 2018.
