Newcastle Beachwatch with Dave Anderson: Saturday, March 31, 2018


A weak southerly change is working it's way up the coast during the morning.

There may be a window of opportunity early with some clean shorebreaks on the big mid morning high.

Swell starting off out of the East then swinging to the South at around 1m. Wind moderate South to S/E. 

First up try the shorebreaks at Cliff,Dixon and Pogos. Cowire towards high and Nobbys as the change arrives.Stockton.

One Mile and Boxy to the north.

Redhead, Moonie and Catho down the coast. Shorebreaks heavy and shallow on high with slight sweeps to the south.

Swim in flagged areas and listen out for lifeguards.

Winds: South to southeasterly 10 to 15 knots, reaching 20 knots south of Port Stephens in the morning, shifting northeasterly in the afternoon. 

Seas: 1 to 1.5 metres.
