Grayson gets fun and breezy on comeback single

SUMMER FUN Newcastle country musician Grayson has unveiled his latest single Margarita off his forthcoming fifth album. Grayson, aka Michael Edser, is based in Nashville but returned home over the summer to film the song’s video at Redhead and Dudley beaches and support The Voice winner Judah Kelly at the Tamworth Country Music Festival. 

LAUGHING BACK 12 years after their last show in Newcastle, comedians Colin Lane and Frank Woodley, better known as Lano & Woodley, are returning to the Civic Theatre on March 9 and 10. Their latest show is called Fly! and promises to rise like a like “phoenix or a slo-mo Farnesy.”

BIG CHANCE Newcastle punk rockers Split Feed have been gifted the biggest opportunity of their career, after they were added to the Groovin The Moo line-up at Maitland Showground on April 28 this week. Split Feed earned the slot through Triple J Unearthed. 

CITY BLITZ Melbourne indie band City Calm Down have included the University of Newcastle’s Bar On The Hill on their tour to support their forthcoming second album Echoes In Blue. You can expect tracks like their latest single Joan, I’m Disappearing on June 21.

HIT RECORD If you’ve ever wanted to understand the inner workings of the recording studio, your chance has arrived. The Grove Studio on the Central Coast is holding open days on March 17 and April 28 to launch its new academy that will offer a Diploma of Music Industry (Sound Production) starting in June. The open days will feature live demos, studio tours and information booths.
