Australian Olympian Jane Moran returns to bolster a Hunter Hurricanes women’s squad fresh from back-to-back wins on the road in Adelaide.

Moran, who represented the Stingers at London 2012, will line-up for the Hurricanes away against both Drummoyne on Friday and Balmain on Saturday after missing the morale-boosting victories last weekend.

“Jane Moran didn’t come on our road trip and she’ll be stepping into our team this week,” coach Mitch Baird said.

“Hopefully we can pick up where we left off last weekend.”

However, the Lambton-based side will be without injured centre forward Millie Pullyblank after breaking her wrist in Hunter’s most recent outings.

“She’s in a cast at the moment and she’ll be out for a few weeks,” Baird said.

The Hurricanes, whose sole previous triumph had been recorded on May 4, sit equal sixth on the competition ladder.

Meanwhile and Hunter’s men’s team, who share the competition lead, can go a long way to securing a finals spot if they can repeat opening-round success over Drummoyne and Balmain.

The Hurricanes have a 9-3 record in 2018 and have won five straight fixtures.
