The Hunter Academy of Sport Golfers completed their last training session ahead of the 2018 Your Local Club Academy Games on Saturday with a packed day of on and off-field skills and education.

The golfers were lucky enough to be visited by Chris Woutersz, a former Detective Sergeant who served with the NSW Police Force for 20 years.

Chris presented to the 13 to 16-year-old golfers about the dangers of social media and personal awareness online, assisting the young athletes in ensuring their social media activity is safe for not just them as a young person, but as an emerging athlete aiming to reach the top of their sport.

The session also consisted of strength and conditioning testing, provided by Anthony Webb from Innovate S & C, and a nutrition presentation by Sarah Leonik.

The 19 athletes have had a tremendous season at HAS, learning many new skills and further developing and refining their skill.

They are set to take the green on Saturday 28th of April at Pacific Dunes, and Sunday 29th of June at the Newcastle Golf Club as part of the 2018 Your Local Club Academy Games.
