Newcastle Beachwatch with Dave Anderson: Friday, July 20, 2018

BEACHWATCH

THERE will be freshening offshore winds through out the morning, keeping surf conditions small and inconsistent. We may see a slight increase late afternoon as wind eases and tide runs out. Swell south-east to east at 0.5 to 1 metres. Wind north-west turning west and strengthening. No change in the bank situation as the shore breaks continue to sand up with long straight deep gutters just off them. Tides running out for the early with small breaks at Divider and Bar Beach. Burwood and Dudley to the south. Waters cold in with excellent visibility. Not many on the beach but a lot out exercising along the promenades. The water temperature is 15 degrees.
