Man charged with indecent assaults aboard Newcastle line train

A MAN will face court over allegations of two indecent assaults, including one on the Newcastle train line. 

The man boarded the train at Tuggerah station about 12.50pm on Saturday May 12, sitting beside a woman. 

It is alleged the man touched the 23-year-old’s leg and buttocks. 

The woman walked away before reporting the incident to police at Hornsby station. 

It is further alleged the same man boarded a train about 5pm on June 1 at Macquarie Park station and sat beside a 27-year-old woman. He allegedly touched her leg. 

The woman reported the incident at Chatswood station. 

Police Transport and Public Safety Command police arrested a 34-year-old man at Parramatta about 11.30am on Wednesday. 

He was charged with two counts of assault with act of indecency and granted conditional bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on July 16. 

Police are conducting Operation Artemis, which is an ongoing program designed to target indecent or sexual offences on public transport.
