Newcastle Now will partner with locally-based fashion magazine Façon at a spring runway event in November that promises to spotlight Newcastle's fashion retailers.
Richard Christian, Newcastle Now's executive manager, said the sponsorship deal came during a challenging year for retails facing disruption as a result of light rail construction in the city.
“What we really like about this event is that it celebrates our creative and retail fashion industry as well as helping small businesses in the city,” he said.

Fashion retailers and designers will be included in a special “mini” edition of Façon, which will be distributed at the event and at outlets throughout the city.
Façon director Lara Lupish is managing the magazine, which will feature styling and professional photography, as well as special offers to entice shoppers.
“We have amazing design talent here in Newcastle and a lot of hard-working retailers,” said Lupish. “I want to do what I can to support them and the combination of the runway event and mini magazine will hopefully create a buzz in the lead up to Christmas .”
“Lara is a passionate advocate of the city, and we are looking forward to working with her to bring her ambitious vision to life," Mr Christian said.
