Police appeal for information over supermarket robberies in the Hunter earlier this year

Police are investigating possible links between two break-ins at Hunter supermarkets.

Detectives have released images from CCTV footage recorded at the scene of each robbery and are appealing for public information to help with their investigation.

The first break-in took place at Fletcher about 1.30am on January 12. The second occurred at Kurri Kurri about 1.30am on April 19.

In footage of the incidents, a group of up to four people can be seen forcing their way into the store using sledge hammers, block splitters and jemmy bars. Cash was stolen in both cases.

The footage also shows two vehicles – a dark blue dual cab ute and a white sedan.

Police believe the incidents are linked.
