NEW DAWN Eskimo Joe frontman Kav Temperley has stepped out as a solo artist after releasing his debut single Pollyanna this week. The voice behind the classic tracks Black Fingernails, Red Wine and From The Sea is instantly recognisable on Pollyanna, which has a more folk-rock sound than Eskimo Joe’s back catalogue. Temperley’s debut album All Your Devotion is out September 28 and he plays Lizotte’s on October 20.

FAMILY AFFAIR Welsh singer and BBC presenter Aled Jones is known for possessing one of the most revered voices in the spiritual music world. In September Jones will bring his 12-year-old son and spitting image, Lucas, to Australia to perform songs from his One Voice series, which includes the family duet The Lord Is My Shepherd.  Jones performs at Newcastle’s Christ Church Cathedral on September 16.

NO FAKE Melbourne rockers The Delta Riggs have included Newcastle on their upcoming Fake That single tour. The track is the first taste off the band’s fourth album, due for release early next year. Catch the Delta Riggs at the Cambridge Hotel on October 11.
