Broadmeadow will be hurting even more if Tyson Jackson proves a match-winner for Edgeworth in the grand final on Saturday night.
Jackson trained with Magic in pre-season before a late switch to the Eagles, where friend Rod Linsley is an assistant coach, and he has been a revelation for their attack.
“He’s been in the Jets, he’s a local boy from West Wallsend, and that’s what we want – to not lose those local boys to inner-city teams,” Eagles coach Damian Zane said. “We just knew he’d fit our club and what we are about. His energy, work rate and ability to beat players is something else. He leads assists for our team and I don’t think we’ve had a player like him on the right.”
