North Construction & Building was honoured to receive three awards at this year’s MBA Excellence in Building Awards. St Bede's Catholic College, Chisholm won Best Public Building ($6m-$12m); the Tuggerah Regional Sporting & Recreational Complex won most Efficient Use of Water; and North’s very own Nelson Florimo won Commercial Apprentice of the Year.
North’s achievements over the past week didn’t stop there. The company was named 2018 Medium Employer of the Year at the 2018 NSW Training Awards Wednesday night.
These awards, conducted by Training Services NSW, recognise students, trainers/teachers, training organisations, and large and medium employers for their standout achievements in the vocational education and training sector.
“This is a major win for North,” states Matthew Cook, Director. “It recognises our dedication to our people and our continuous efforts to be both Commercial Builder of Choice and Employer of Choice for the Central Coast, Newcastle and Hunter Valley regions.”
At North, the corporate culture is considered to be the foundation on which their business is supported and is built upon with every project and every client. Their workforce is largely made up of long term employees who know and understand what working with North means, and who share the same values and goals.
These long standing relationships allow for continual improvement which has resulted in not only North becoming the largest locally owned and operated construction business throughout the Central Coast, Newcastle and Hunter Valley regions but also one of the most trusted.
North is committed to providing long-term careers and, as such, provides a training and development environment in sync with the company’s strategic direction.
This includes a history of investing in work placements, trade apprenticeships and cadetships which contributes to the pool of future North employees and strengthens the overall construction industry.
Clients who select North as their Builder of Choice are not only ensuring a reputable builder with the relevant skills and local trade support that will deliver their project with a genuine interest in achieving the best possible outcome, but also to receiving professional and ethical approaches to all aspects of the project.
The awards North has received over the past week further confirms their strong position in the local commercial construction space and highlights the values upholding the businesses that so many of their clients, staff and subcontractors know and trust.
