Build for a Cure house ready for unveil at Medowie's The Bower estate | VIDEO

The Build for a Cure house at Medowie is set for a huge public unveil on Sunday after furnishing and interior decoration wrapped up on Thursday.

Australia’s celebrity tradie, The Block host Scott Cam, will cut a celebratory ribbon at the house with childhood cancer survivors to mark the house’s completion.

The house, which will be auctioned on October 21 to raise funds for the Children’s Cancer Institute, has been built over the past three weeks by more than 100 volunteer tradies. McDonald Jones Homes led the build on land donated by the McCloy Group at The Bower estate.

The Newcastle Herald was given a sneak peak of the house on Thursday night with former Block contestants Maxine and Karstan providing a walk through tour of the property.

Furnishings and whitegoods provided by Freedom, Fisher & Paykel and Winning Appliances were fitted in the house earlier in the day before a VIP function.

Freedom interior designer Elise Cooper said more than $50,000 of furniture was donated and included products not yet featured on the company’s shop floors.

She described the house as an “entertainer’s dream” with open-plan living out to a landscaped backyard. Ms Cooper said Freedom had complemented the colour scheme coordinated by design studio My Choice.

“We were really trying to get the ‘lux’ feel,” said My Choice’s Hunter studio manager Sophie Devos, who produced the colour pallet for both the interior and exterior of the house.

“The luxurious with the Monochromatic tones of the greys and the blacks, and then fluffing it up with the brown tones of the natural timber and golds and navy.

“It’s pretty amazing, we’re really happy with how it has turned out. It’s really nice to come and see it all come together.”

Build for a Cure will directly fund medical research that aims to find a cure for all children with cancer.

The house is expected to sell for about $650,000.

Sunday’s reveal is being held from 10.30am to 1.30pm and will feature a jumping castle, face painting and a meet and greet with Maxine and Karstan.

Scott Cam will cut the ribbon at 11am.
