LIVE music will return to the Newcastle Foreshore this summer with the launch of the new By The C festival at Camp Shortland.
New wave legends Icehouse, fronted by the charismatic Iva Davies, will headline By The C on Saturday, January 19 alongside pub rock kings The Sunnyboys, Do Re Mi and Mental As Anything.
Camp Shortland in recent years has hosted the youth-based This That and baby boomer-focused Live At The Foreshore festivals, but the former shifted to Wickham Park in 2017 and the latter was re-branded as Generation X festival Scene & Heard.
By The C will also travel to Wollongong, Coolangatta, Geelong and Adelaide through January and February and aims to provide “a celebration of live music, food and community at iconic coastal locations around Australia.”
Icehouse - best known for classics like Electric Blue, Great Southern Land, Hey Little Girl and Man Of Colours - last performed in Newcastle in February 2016 when they sold out two nights at the Civic Theatre.
Tickets for By The C go on sale 10am Friday through ticketmaster.com.
