INDUSTRIOUS midfielder Steve Ugarkovic will call Newcastle home for the next three years as the Jets continue to build towards the future.
Ugarkovic signed a two-year extension on Monday which ties the 24-year-old to the Jets until the end of the 2020-21 campaign.
Socceroos Dimi Petratos signed fora similar time frame last week, while senior players Nigel Boogaard and Jason Hoffman agreed to stay at the club until the end of the 2019-20 season.
Ugarkovic and defender Nikolai Topor-Stanley were the only players to feature in all 29 of the Jets’ matches last season.
The Sydneysider joined the club in 2015-16 after a stint in Croatia.
“This is a place I’ve made home, and it’s fantastic to know that I’ll be here until at least the end of the 2020/21 season,” Ugarkovic said.
“I feel like my football is getting better with each season, especially under Ernie with the attacking brand of football he likes us to play.
“It’s a great place to be a part of, the club has never been more settled and we’ve got a strong group of players that I’m proud to take the field with every week.”
