A MAN will face court in Newcastle this month after paramedics were allegedly threatened and shoved on Honeysuckle Drive on Monday evening.
A NSW Ambulance crew was called to the area about 6.30pm due to concerns for the wellbeing a man who had been reported unconscious outside a food outlet.
Newcastle police were told that when the two paramedics tried to help the man, he became violent and was allegedly threatening them.
Police were told the man attempted to punch one paramedic before shoving the other backwards.
Officers arrested a man, 29, in a nearby apartment a short time later.
The man was charged with two counts each of common assault and intimidation.
He received bail to face Newcastle Local Court on October 25.
“Neither paramedic was physically injured; however, both were shaken by the incident,” police said in a statement.
