Newcastle cricketer Jason Sangha has been named in a 12-man NSW squad ahead of the Blues’ season-opening Sheffield Shield encounter against South Australia in Adelaide.
The Australian under-19 caoptain could be one of three players to make their shield debut for NSW next week with Jack Edwards and Daniel Sams also announced in the four-day side.
Edwards and Sams both performed for NSW during the recent national one-day tournament, known as the JLT Cup and won by Victoria this week.
He scored 48 for ACT-NSW Country in the Futures League in Canberra this week after posting a game-saving half-century for Randwick in the Sydney first grade competition on Saturday.
NSW’s first-round fixtures starts on Tuesday.
